Mar. 21, 2011  Laser Dynamics Laboratory was ranked #17 worldwide among chemistry research labs of the past decade (2000-2010) by the Thomson Reuters !!!  During this period, LDL published more manuscripts than any others in the top 20.  Congratulations to Prof. El-Sayed and all his students.

Jan. 29, 2010  Laser Dynamics Laboratory was ranked #4 worldwide among academic chemistry research labs of the past decade by the Times Higher Education !!!  LDL publications garnered an impressive 75.74 citations per paper over this period.  Congratulations to Prof. El-Sayed and all his students.

Sept. 29, 2008  Prof. El-Sayed became sole recipient of the 2007 National Medal of Science in chemistry "...for his contributions to our understanding of the electronic and catalytic properties of nanostructures and nanomaterials".  picture 1 & 2 with President George W. Bush.

Prof. El-Sayed also received the 2009 Ahmed Zewail Prize in Molecular Sciences"...for his seminal contributions to the understanding of the electronic and molecular dynamics and properties of systems with different length scales, ranging from molecules to nanoparticles to biomedical systems" at the 2009 Spring ACS conference in Salt Lake City, UT.  In addition, he received the 2009 Glenn T. Seaborg Medal.
